My EP “1929″ is on iTunes & Amazon!

Yep.  It’s true. The time has finally come to have music for all of you who ask me….and I THANK YOU for asking.  I’ve always had a lame excuse, like I’m singing other peoples songs for them, or I’m switching publishing deals, or I had a potluck to cook a casserole for…..but no more excuses.

I now have my own little place on iTunes and Amazon for you to download. And for those of you hard core music lovers who like to have the product in your hand to study everything about it- that can happen too!!  Email me an address and I’ll be selling them for $5 (plus $2.50 for s+h).

The EP is called “1929″.  If you will go back and read my blog ‘Party like it’s 2009?’ – you will see where my head-space was earlier this year.  As time marched on, and the gloom and doom of the economy preached and ranted from the news rooms. That morning in the car I heard on the radio, “This is the WORST it’s been since the famous crash of ‘29.  I mean…this is BAAAAD.  REALLY REALLY BAD, people.”

Wow.  What a lead in to up-tempo positive!  I sat in a writer room with my friends Joshua Rush and Kent Agee.  I kept wanting to write a song that Kent and I had started.  No title – but the opening line was “I got a red dress – I  know how to use it.”  Josh laughed.  Started playing a cool groove.  Kent approved.  Then….we decided to just write a song that said – ‘forget it all!  Chase the blues for a night!  Lost your job?  Forget about it!!’  After all….that’s what they did in the 30’s after the stock market crash.  Think “We’re in the Money”, “Bye-bye blues”, “Puttin on the Ritz”….they were singing about the glory days – but most were NOT living it.  SO – I jokingly said, “well – we could party like it’s 1929….”   Silence.  Stares.  Crickets.  I clarified.  ”You know.  The stock market crash in 1929?  The great Depression?  PRINCE?   Party like it’s 1999??  You know the song…..RIGHT?”  I apologized for my warped brain.  Then slowly Kent said, and I quote, “That might just be the most brilliant thing you’ve ever said.”  REALLY?  I love to be brilliant!  And being a C student in all things Algebra and even college voice lessons – I REALLY love to be called brilliant!

So….the song was born.  The song came of age in the studio.  And this little song baby has made it all the way to the big world of the internet.  I hope you enjoy it. I hope you buy it.  I hope you tell your friends and family and everyone who loves to shake it and turn it up – cause it’s that kind of song.

There are some more songs too….I’ll tell you fun things about those later.  For now….FOCUS.

Cheers!

And won’t you help me
Party like it’s 1929!!!!
